KENYA

Kenya’s wild landscapes and diverse ecosystems straddle the equator in East Africa. Vast savanna plains, rolling highlands, magnificent lakes, and harsh arid savannas can all be found within its borders. Kenya is also home to some of Africa’s most famous parks that support amazing wildlife populations. The Maasai Mara borders the Serengeti in Tanzania, and each year it welcomes the greatest mammal migration on earth. Millions of wildebeest, zebra, and other antelope move through the Mara in search of good grazing. Amboseli National Park and surrounding conservancies boast views of Mt. Kilimanjaro. In the Laikipia Region, cattle ranches have been transformed into thriving wildlife reserves that protect many of Kenya’s endangered species. The arid Samburu Region has its own “Special Five,” a group of unique creatures that thrive there.

Kenyans are warm, hospitable, and proud ambassadors of their country. Eco-tourism pioneers value and encourage community input and participation in conservation efforts, creating many successful protected areas where wildlife and humans peacefully coexist and benefit from one another. The incredible volume of wildlife, welcoming people, and unbelievable landscapes make Kenya a country you should include on your safari bucket list!
