ZIMBABWE

Zimbabwe is a landlocked country in Southern Africa sandwiched between two rivers. The mighty Zambezi River flows along its northern border with Zambia, while the Limpopo River meanders along its southern border with South Africa. The Zambezi plummets with enormous force into a gorge over 250 feet deep at Victoria Falls. In Mana Pools, the Zambezi River overflows into floodplains and lagoons, and its forested riverbanks host great concentrations of wildlife. Along Zimbabwe’s western border, the open grasslands of Hwange National Park support massive herds of wildlife, and its waterholes attract breeding herds of elephant and buffalo year round. Sandstone cliffs decorate Zimbabwe’s eastern highlands and create spectacular vistas. Zimbabwe’s history, welcoming people, beautiful landscapes, and spectacular wildlife make it one of Africa’s safari treasures.
