KIGALI
Kigali is the capital and largest city of Rwanda. It is located near the nation’s geographic center in a region of rolling hills. Kigali is Rwanda’s economic and cultural center. You will most likely spend a night here to or from your Rwanda safari destinations. This vibrant city is rich with culture, history, and nature. In this very clean city, you can enjoy a number of cultural experiences, such as head to a fashion boutique or a ‘kitenge’ fabric market, meet local artisans, dive into the Rwandan culinary scene, or visit the genocide memorial and museum. You can also hike into the beautiful, forested hills that surround Kigali, looking or vervet monkeys or being adventurous by ziplining.
Seasons
Kigali has a temperate tropical climate due to its proximity to the equator, but is generally a bit cooler because of its higher elevation. Temperatures are fairly consistent year-round ranging from around 81°F in the daytime to 59°F at night. There are typically two rainy seasons from February to June and from September to December, with two dry seasons in between.
