WHEN TO TRAVEL

Selecting the time of the year that best fits you depends on where you want to go and what you would like to see. Each season places different demands on nature, and the intricate web of life shifts throughout the year. Typically, during the winter season water is scarce and wildlife congregates around permanent water supplies. The dry landscape increases visibility, as foliage and vegetation remain thin. The lush summer season brings magnificent colors and new life. As food and water become more plentiful, antelopes give birth in numbers, and migrating bird species arrive. Both spring and autumn offer the best of both worlds as the subtle changes in the environment become apparent and wildlife and plants reveal their fascinating adaptations.

Africa experiences high and low seasons, corresponding to weather patterns and holiday travel. The high season occurs outside of the rainy season, when weather conditions are favorable and consistent. This time of year also offers the most advantageous conditions for wildlife viewing. While weather patterns can be more variable during low season, traveling during this time can provide a more private and economical safari experience.

We’re here to help you make an informed decision on what time of year is best for your journey!
